The Syncopate Manifesto
Syncopate is building relationships through music. We believe music is about playing and promoting shows; touring; recording and publishing amazing records; and creating new relationships. It’s not about uploading here, uploading there, replying to a message here, approving a comment there. Syncopate is the one place to reach out and be reached on the web.
- We love music, that’s our driving motivation.
- We’ve been in bands, promoted shows, run labels and venues, and been fans throughout our lives. We’re building the tools we wish we’d had.
- We’ll always provide our core services for free (as in beer, and as in freedom).
- We’re not a silo and we will not abuse our users or their content.
- We’ll take all the opportunities we can to freely promote our users.
- We’ll make every effort to keep the “noise” out of our site so the music can be heard.
- We won’t try to confuse or trick our users with jargon and legalize. We’ll talk to you as friends.
- We don’t just want to create a community, we want to be active in it. We’ll be there at shows, launch parties, wherever we can help spread good music.
- We want your online presence to be a boost to your career and at the same time not be a burden to your life.
- We believe all you need is love. And some good geek friends to handle your tech.
