About
Hey, I’m Alex – the one-woman whirlwind behind Syncopate. I used to think I’d left my art days behind after my Fine Art degree… until a trip to Japan reminded me what it feels like to really care about what you’re making.
I started drawing again – for fun, for me – and before I knew it, those drawings turned into t-shirts. Not because I planned to start a brand, but because I wanted to wear stuff that felt like me: a little odd, a bit witty, sometimes soft, sometimes spiky.
Syncopate grew out of that – equal parts late-night sketching, a love of well-made things, and the lowkey rage of someone who’s tired of landfill fashion. Now it’s a small (but mighty) studio in Cambridgeshire, and I still make every single item myself. I like it that way.

About Syncopate
Syncopate is wearable art for people who don’t want to wear what everyone else is wearing.
It’s for dungaree-lovers, dopamine dressers, soft goths, nerds, weirdos, witches, makers, introverts, punks, queers, and anyone who’s ever looked at a slogan tee and gone “...meh.”
This isn’t fast fashion. It’s slow, intentional, and a little bit weird - just how I like it. Everything’s designed by me (hi again), made with eco-conscious materials, and printed in-house using low-waste methods. Even the packaging plays nice.
But Syncopate isn’t just about the clothes. It’s a mindset. A soft rebellion. A way of saying, “Actually, I do care what I wear — but I want it to say something real.”
I built Syncopate with these CORE values in mind.
Creativity First
Every design starts with a sketch - not a trend forecast. I make stuff because I care about the art and sometimes I just like it, not the algorithm. I make my own damn 'cool'.
Sustainability Without the Greenwash
No perfection, just real effort. I use organic cotton, eco inks, and low-waste packaging - and I keep production small, local, and personal. You can find out more here.
Craft Over Hype
Every piece is made to last. I’d rather sell you one tee you wear for years than ten you throw away after two washes. WE all know those brands that sell you a tee for £20 and after two washes it has peeled, faded or shrunk. What is the point?
A Little Bit Offbeat
Life’s too short for boring clothes. I design for people who like their humour dark, their wardrobe comfy, and their slogans with a twist of dark.
Community and Cult Vibes
Syncopate isn’t just me anymore - it’s you. The makers, the dungaree wearers, the dopamine dressers, the aged emos. You’re why this works. Join my gang.
