Sustainability & Me

Let’s be real: I’m not perfect. No brand is. But I’m doing my best to run Syncopate in a way that’s kind to the planet – and the people on it.

This isn’t fast fashion. It’s slow, intentional, and made to last.

What I’m doing now
Low-Waste Production
I don’t bulk order or chase trends. I print everything myself, in small batches or on demand, so there’s no wasted stock heading for landfill.
Eco-Friendly Materials
All my t-shirts come from Stanley/Stella – a brilliant supplier using 100% organic cotton, with certifications like GOTS, OEKO-TEX and PETA-approved vegan. They’re known for ethical working conditions and long-lasting quality.
My totes are from Westford Mill, part of their EarthAware® range – made from sturdy organic cotton, designed to be reused again and again.
Quality Printing
I use Supercolour DTF transfers – they use water-based inks and OEKO-TEX certified materials, and they’ve nailed high-quality, low-waste printing. I press everything myself here in the UK so I can keep control over the finish (and reduce waste while I’m at it).
Plastic-Free Packaging
Orders are packed in recyclable, plastic-free mailers – currently pink ones I get from a UK-based supplier (yep, even small choices can look good and do good). The tissue paper I use is also eco-friendly. No plastic wrap. No pointless filler. Just stuff that does its job without wrecking the planet
Scraps Become Something New
Misprints and fabric scraps don’t get binned – they get turned into scrunchies, bags, yarn, or other one-off pieces. If it can be saved, I’ll find a use for it. You can find out more about that over on the Re-Alived tab.

Every order rescues 10 plastic bottles from oceans and rivers.
Every order with Syncopate partners with Greenspark to rescue 10 ocean-bound plastic bottles on your behalf.
Greenspark works with coastal communities to collect, recycle, and repurpose plastic that would otherwise pollute rivers and seas. Over time, our collective impact builds - connecting every tee you buy to real environmental action. You can find my Greenspark page here, which has live updates about our impact.

What I’m working on next
-
Giving old Syncopate tees a second life with the new Re-Alive trade-in scheme
-
Testing natural fabric dyes for future one-off collections
-
Exploring hemp and other alternative eco-fabrics

What I’m not going to do
-
I’m not going to slap the word “sustainable” on everything and hope no one asks questions.
-
I’m not going to overproduce, compromise on quality, or pretend that making clothes has zero impact. It does. But I try to make the impact as low as possible - and the clothing as worthwhile and as long-lasting as possible.

If you want to know more about how something’s made, just ask.
Transparency isn’t scary when you’ve got nothing to hide.
